Calm, overcast and sunny, 9 degrees. 0930/1230 hrs. Cheesden bridge to Deeply Vale and return.

Reed Bunting, several pairs in the wet areas.

Kestrel, single hunting the moor.

Grasshopper Warbler, single reeling in old lodge.

Willow Warbler, at least six singing all down the valley.

Sand martin, 12 hawking round breeding site. Unfortunately a Mink was hunting the Brook banking.

Swallow, 7 high over.

House Martin, 2 over Buckhurst.

Jay, 3 feeding in the Hawthorns.

Whitethroat, one behind Moorlands, three in song in the wet willow area beyond Buckhurst.

Wheatear, 2 feeding on the moor.

Greenfinch, single calling.

Mistle Thrush, pair over.

Tuffed Duck, single on Buckhurst.

Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming Deeply Vale.

Stonechat, pair in rough ground opposite Moorlands.

No shortage of Magpie, Carrion Crow, Jackdaw, and Woodpigeon.

Wren, Robin, good numbers.
