Just spent a few days away visiting my Dad who lives in Cornwall and who is a keen birder. Not that we was out getting ticks we was more just enjoying doing something that wasnt Sunderland football club as we are both from the north east originally. we managed to clock up some good miles and enjoyed the views that the south west has to offer.
three firsts for me,
Chough
Cirl bunting
Manx Shearwater
Plenty of warblers about missed a lot of waders due to the high tide, but nice to see Rock pipit, whimbrel, redstart, pied flycatcher and had a single Puffin sat on the water which hadnt been reported before on my dads local patch Which was nice to see. Other sea birds was also a very nice change to what rossendale has to offer such as gannet, shag, razorbill and guillemot.
cheers,
Phil.
