• mute swan - an immature bird was on the lake in the main quarry area, a first for me here
• Canada goose - min 26 in Whitworth Quarry
• pink-footed goose - skein of 71 over west
• mallard - 2 drakes
• oystercatcher - 2 calling in the mist this morning
• snipe - 2 chipping birds
• kestrel - 1 in each quarry
• lesser black-backed gull - 3 over
• skylark - c15 singing
• meadow pipit - c25
• pied wagtail - 2
• stock dove - 2 in Lee Quarry
• wheatear - 3 in Lee Quarry
• linnet - flock of 20 in Whitworth Quarry

on a sadder note a group of c25 dirt bikers & 5 quad bikers came through Lee Quarry.
