white letter hairstreak - 2 males seen spiraling 30 feet above the crown of a large elm at Gaghills, then 2 + 1 seen on the same tree, which may or may not have been the 2 seen previously
ringlet - c20 at Trickett's Memorial, c25 along Edge Lane & c25 at Marl Pits
Meadow Brown - 4 at Trickett's Memorial & c6 at Marl Pits
green-veined white - 4 at Trickett's Memorial & c6 at Marl Pits
large white - 2 at Gaghills
small tortoiseshell - 2 at Trickett's Memorial & 6 at Edge Lane#
peacock - clump of c40 caterpillars on nettles at Edge Lane (c150 caterpillars on nettles near Whitworth Quarry yesterday)
comma - 1 at Trickett's Memorial
red admiral - 1 at Trickett's Memorial
painted lady - 1 at Edge Lane
also 1 white plume moth at Trickett's Memorial and a lot of 7 spot ladybirds noted over past 2 days
