Wallbank Lodge

19 mallard, 1 moorhen, 23 black-headed gull, collared dove singing, song thrush singing

Eastgate Woods

1 nuthatch, flocks of 4 & 8 long-tailed tits, song thrush singing & 4 or 5 flocks of woodpigeon noted flying up the Spodden Valley in flocks of 20 - 30 birds

Spring Mill Res

3 cormorant, 9 Canada geese, 4 mallard, male goosander flew away from the res as I arrived, 110 black-headed gull, 11 common gull, 2 pied wagtail, 1 green woodpecker, 23 woodpigeon, 3 stock dove, 3 blue tit, 1 great tit, 1 wren, 8 magpie, 1 jay, 12 jackdaw, 3 carrion crow, 4 goldfinch & 4 house sparrow

Fold Head

a male merlin unsuccessfully chased a small bird, probably a chaffinch, into a hawthorn, then continued flying on up the hillside, 33 Canada geese over to Spring Mill Res

Cowm Res

25 mallard, 38 black-headed gull, including 1 in full summer plumage, 3 woodpigeon, 8 robin, 2 blackbird, 1pr mistle thrush, 8 coal tit, 4 goldfinch & 3 greenfinch

Whitworth Quarry

1pr teal, 1 meadow pipit & 1 carrion crow

Lee Quarry

1 little owl, mistle thrush sing from Stubbylee Park & bullfinch calling from the track
