Good luck Brian

As most will know Brian and Maureen Kirkwood ( and Meg) have moved out of Rossendale and  over to Birchwood near Warrington yesterday.

Brian has been a key member of ROC for many years attending as many meetings and trips as possible and also Record keeping for the area.

He has made many boxes and trays for our local Birds of Prey over the years and as retired engineer they are always precision works of art . Some are now over 10 years old and still in good condition. We have ringed over 200 Barn Owls in our area from boxes that Brian made which is a great reflection on the quality of his work.

Brian has always been at hand to offer any advice on anything to do with Flora and Fauna both at home and abroad and there are not many things he could not offer advice on .

Wishing Brian and Maureen all the best in their new home and good luck for the future .

Hi Rob

Yes, totally agree, Brian will be greatly missed.

Not only his nest boxes, but his feeding station at Strongstry and his many reports from his local patch.

All the best Brian and good luck in your new home

cheers Kevin

Hi All sorry for late post but have been off line during my house move, i would like to take this opportunity to thank all the ROC members for their friendship and help over the last 20 years, I will continue birding around the Chat,Astley, Risley moss area and will post any interesting sightings and if anyone fancies a trip down here i can arrange to host a trip, Iwill return to Rossendale when i can to catch up with old friends. Regards Brian.

A great write up Rob and a big loss to our ROC.

Who knows Brian we might cross paths on my occasional ventures out to the Mosses.

Good luck in your new home!

Kind Regards,

Hi Brian
Sorry for late post - I've been on holiday in Italy
As you know you will be sorely missed but you know where to find us and maybe a trip to a new area would be on the cards.
Best of luck and thank you
Ian
