A Nightjar was spotted on a branch somehow in a bit of a clearing by a local birder in Kenworthy Woods on Sunday.  Lucky I had work  booked within the vicinity and I stopped by.  The access point is near Willenhall Road, Whythenshawe, park under the motorway bridge and walk straight a head.  It makes me wonder how many Nightjars I may missed because of the camouflage.

It exhibited a number of behaviour's sat on the branch.  The strangest thing was how it boogied on the branch and wobbling.  It often would stretch and even open it's mouth which could have swallowed the annoying Chiffchaff nearby.  The Nightjar even caught a fly which flew close, without any effort!
