Welcome to the Rossendale Birds and Wildlife Forum

The forums within this site are provided for the purpose of recording sightings of the various groups within the Rossendale Borough boundary.

You do not have to register in order to use the forum simply for reading the existing messages.  However, you will need to register as a member of the forum if you wish to post your own sightings or post responses to others.

You only need to add a minimal amount of personal detail in order to register.  Note that your email address is stored securely in a database and is not visible to spammers (but ensure you do not add it to the text of any posts).

Would you please register using your own name or a recognisable form of it.  This will help when using the sightings to compile the bird report and will ensure that the correct observer gets credited with a sighting.

Although members will probably be familiar with most bird locations within Rossendale, if your sighting relates to a less familiar place, please include a grid reference, or the name of a site the location is near to so that readers can understand the geography.

Members should be aware of the public nature of forums such as this – pretty well anyone can read the messages – so please do not post messages that could disclose the location of sensitive species.  My account setup allows me to act as a moderator in the forums so I reserve the right to amend any posting which I feel gives too much detail as to the location of a sensitive species.
