Whilst at front door having a quick drag - 7 Whooper Swans flew above me calling - West to East 1945hrs. Could see clearly with moonlight and streetlight, only about 50ft high. Never seen them before at night.
Good, more Whoopers. Almost justifies the bad effects of the ciggy.
By the way, have you checked the Greater Manchester Bird Forum? There is a link to it from the Links header on this forum. I noticed a post today from Judith Smith listing someone's vismig birds for Winter Hill today. Lots of Fieldfares like you had.
Thanks for that, I have now bookmarked, and great to hear theres also someone at Winter Hill doing counts. Alan Porter used to do some counting from there, but moved over to Croston a couple of years ago, so good to know someone has filled the post!!
