Gaghills 08:00:  24 redwing flying towards Cowpe.


Edgecote 09:45: 39 common snipe, 3 meadow pipit.


Marl Pits 10:20: 9 redwing, 1 mistle thrush, 3 redpoll.


Lower Cloughfold 10:45: 1 party long tailed tits, 2 redwing, 1 or 2m bullfinch and 1 flock 0f 10 redwing and 60 fieldfare flying north.


Bocholt Way 11:00: 1 grey wagtail, 1 dipper, 1 grey heron, 2 mistle thrush, 5 mallard.


Rawtenstall 11:10: 10 long tailed tit, 90 feral pigeon, 38 mallard, 1 grey heron, 100 fieldfare north.


Groundwork 11:30: 1 redhead goosander, 1pr mallard, lesser black backed gull 1 west, dipper 1 in song, 1 grey heron.


Holmes Terrace Lodge 11:45: 38 mallard, 7 moorhen, 14 black headed gull.


Townsendfold Bridge 12:10: 1 dipper in song, 1 grey wagtail, 2 pr mallard, mixed flock of 30 fieldfare and redwing split evenly.


Ewood Bridge Sewage Works 12:35: 60 black headed gull, 25 pied wagtail, 100 asstd carrion crow and jackdaws.


Irwell Vale 12:45: bullfinch heard, 14 mallard, 30 wood pigeon.


Ravenshore 13:00: 40 fieldfare, 1 grey wagtail, 2 redpoll.


Snig Hole 13:10: 12 magpie, 2 goldcrest, 1 song thrush.


Helmshore Textiles Museum area 13:30: 2 pr mallard, 2 moorhen, 1 grey wagtail, 1 dipper in song and 4 redwing.


Holden Wood Res 14:00: 1 great crested grebe, 1 pr mallard, 1f  wigeon, 4 moorhen, 2 common gull, 40 black headed gull, 2 lesser black backed gull west, 1m kestrel, 1 or 2 prs of stonechat, 17 meadow pipit, 100 starling, 200 fieldfare,1 grey wagtail, 1 or 2 redpoll heard and 2 reed bunting.


Ogden Res 14:45: 1 cormorant.


Calf Hey Res 15:00:  1 pr mallard, 2ad and 1 juv lesser black backed gull west,wood pigeon flocks of 40, and 17, 1 grey wagtail,1 sparrowhawk, jackdaw flocks of 40, 16 and 13 arriving to roost between 15.55and 16.15, carrion crow flock of 60 arriving to roost at 16:00 then many smaller groups numbering no more than 6 at any time continuing to fly in until at least 16:45, 1 very mobile mixed flock of tits, finches and goldcrests contained at least 1m bullfinch, 1f siskin and several goldfinch. Pat and Bob Rishton also saw at least 2 brambling amongst them.


Clough Head 16:10: 1 pr bullfinch.


Heap Clough 16:45: 7 fieldfare.

Good number of Dipper singing - missed them all


Just add a flock of tits a Helmshore Textile Museum with ~12 LT, Blues, Great and Coal tits and a Treecreeper.
