Edgecote 10:00, 26 common snipe, 1 skylark, 2 meadow pipit, circa 600 starling put to flight by a sparrowhawk, 40 fieldfare.


Marl Pits 10:50, 1m sparrowhawk, 21 black headed gull, 2 jay,2 mistle thrush, 7 redwing, 3 lomg tailed tit, 1m bullfinch.


Holme Lane and Holmes Terrace Lodge area 12:15, 2 grey heron, 50 mallard, 2 moorhen and 9 black headed gull on the lodge.  1m kestrel, 1 sparrowhawk over Horncliffe, 1 kingfisher, 1 grey wagtail and 1 dipper on the river, 22 + 225 wood pigeon moving west, 4 redpoll.


Irwell Vale and Ewood Bridge 12:55, 1 lesser black back gull and 1 herring gull over, 2m and 3f pheasant, 1 kingfisher, 1 grey wagtail and 1 singing dipper on the river, 10 collared dove, 30 black headed gulls at the sewage works, circa 160 jackdaws in the area (100 at the sewage works and 60 in the fields across the road), 20 carrion crow, 40 starling and 30 pied wagtails feeding at the sewage works.


Ravenshore / Snig Hole 13:45, 1 grey heron, 200 fieldfare, 4 redwing, 2 mistle thrush, 2f 1m bullfinch.


Holden Wood Res 14:30, 1 great crested grebe, 2 cormorant, 4pr mallard, 9 moorhen, 100 black headed gull, 15 common gull, 50 fieldfare, 1 singing dipper.


Ogden Res 15:10, 4 cormorant, 1 meadow pipit, 7 mistle thrush.


Calf Hey Res 15:30, 1 woodcock, 7 long tailed tit, 6 redwing.

Do you do the Round the Hills Walk every weekend, Kevin? 


Nice selection of birds, though - the singing Dipper may interest Ian but EBSW may not be quiet enough. 


Notice how it doesn't complain about Woodock now I've paid the subs and edited its rudies dictionary?
