Number of species recorded since I started mid-April is 58. Number of individuals in & around the trap in June is 159. Most common is Dark Arches (15), closely followed by Buff Ermine, Lg Yellow U/wing, and Ingrailed Clay. There you go, a few stats to ponder on.

Only had Hebrew Character in trap for last 2 weeks until it rained. last night & night before:- Powdered Quaker White Shouldered House Moth Flame Carpet Scalloped Hazel Dark-barred Twin-spot Carpet May have been more, but they would be inside the frog I found in there.

1 Poplar hawk moth fluttering about the pub whilst I was enjoying a pint of the old thoat lotion. Caught and released into the night air! Bob.

Alucita hexadactyla in the garden this evening. Food plant is honeysuckle, but they seem to like my peas. Easy to ID as it's the only member of the family in Britain....not only that it looks just like it's photo in the book...very obliging.

Disturbered lots of what I think where Straw Dot moths, Rivula sericealis, almost everywhere in long grass. Particularly on National Trust land in Stubbins and at Edenwood. Ina

Ewood Bridge 1 Cinnabar Moth Edenfield. Had to stop mowing the lawn today due to a mass emergence of Large Yellow Underwings. Don't know if they were just asleep or newly emerged, but were reluctant to fly and in pristine condition.... until I went over them with the mower that is!!! Ina
