Hi Brian

Hope to see it tomorrow but it will be in far wetter conditions by all accounts!

Hollingworth Lake does attract some rare birds. If it stays until Sunday i will go to see it IF it rains. If it is dry I might just go for a walk elsewhere.

I get put off going to Hollingworth lake as it is so busy. Does any one have any idea where else to park if the car park will be full?

Does anyone know of any walks in thet area which involve walking on a paved road or a good path? Not over wet or boggy ground. I suppose I could a circuit over the lake 2 times? That is not that exciting though.

Sarfraz

It's exciting enough seeing such a rare bird so close to home!

I parked in the pub carpark and walked anti clockwise.

I have been to see it. Went at 9.30. Amazing little bird.

Amazing detail on that photo - did you take it?

Hi Sarfraz

Great bird...but I like the Grebe species. Yes I took it but it is a real challenge for me as a digiscoper as you only realise how much movement in the bird on water there is when trying to focus scope camera and then take the shot!

Glad you made it though, chance are we won't see another in this country or at least this close to home.
