I am aware that the Cabinet is deciding the Governments policy on tackling bovine TB (bTB) imminently. Please do everything that you can to urge the Government to tackle bovine tuberculosis through vaccination and bio-security measures rather than culling badgers. A badger cull will not be effective in controlling bovine TB and could even make the problem worse due to the perturbation effect. An injectible badger vaccine is available now and the development of a cattle vaccine should be pursued as a matter of priority as the most desirable and long-term solution to bovine TB."
