I have a copy. Our 2011 Little Egret records are included in it they lingered from 26 June to 2nd November. Ooops! The Rough Legged Buzzard photo and record by Dennis Greenwood are included. Sadly probably not much else from our area. Once again they missed my late Iceland Gull record from the Ribble Valley.
Hi Sarfraz, yes, it looks as though the Lancashire Report messed up with the second date. I'll let Steve White know so they can correct next year.
I'm afraid very few Rossendale records got included in the Lancashire Reports for 2010 and 2011. They have a relatively early deadline for record submission. In the past I have usually sent them a draft copy of the Rossendale report for them to select records they thought fit. In the past couple of years this draft has not been available until past their deadline and I had not got time to extract records of county interest from the local data (6000+ records a year).
Can I suggest that for this year (2013) and future years observers submit their own records to the Lancashire Recorder, Steve White, either during the year or at the end. This should ideally be in electronic format (e.g. Excel) for ease of incorporation.
If you go to the website (http://www.lacfs.org.uk/Lancs%20Birds.html) there is a link to Steve's email address and there is also a list of County Description species for guidance. Bear in mind that, being based in the west of the county, they don't always realise the significance of some of our records on a local level but they will be interested in records of species local to East Lancashire that they don't record very often in the west.
I've just noticed that the email address on the LCFS website for Steve White is incorrect. Please send any records to stevewhite102@btinternet.com
