If you have ever taken a pic. of a micro-moth with your phone and it comes out with a blueish tincture..a warning! Aberrations of micro-moths are very rare but the blue picture is real enough.
What has happened is that the phone sensors exaggerate blue colour so not really a genetic aberration of the moth! The slightly metallic wings /scales of typical species of the Tortricidae, Glyphipterix, Eriocrania etc with there very vibrant colour sheens reflect blue and violet light to intensify the effect.
So unfortunately the rather duller image you see with the naked eye is the real one.
