13 mallards 1 cormorant flying over 1 raptor which could have been a female sparrowhawk plenty of gulls flying over about 100 possibly lbb gulls.....hard to tell because of the crows, magpies, woodpigeons .... i did nt walk to the other side

14:30 hrs Much the same as yesterday really but no Whinchat seen. However I watched a Grasshopper Warbler calling (ticking call) from rushes and carring food into possible nest area. Late brood I would have thought. Nutshaw Hill - c20 Meadow Pipit, 6 Goldfinch + 1 Wheatear. Bob.

Hello, I saw a family of 5 Crossbills at Bacup Golf Course 13th August 08 While walking the dog,Excellent Views. They flew over me and landed on a nearby tree,then landed on the path ahead of me. I take it they've probably bred in the area or close by? Another case of should of brought me video camera.

Three raptors passed over Ogden at 2.45pm today, they were very high and heading S.E. I am pretty sure they were Ospreys due to the wing shape but I wonder if anyone can confirm the sighting.
