This evening down in Lumb vale around dusk my dog and i flushed a Woodcock then 200 yds further down the path we flushed another two. As far as i am concerned that is the first time i have recorded them in the old nature reserve.

Yesterday was warm and sunny and it brought out a calling pair of skylarks on the moor, quite early I think. The egg laying collared doves in my garden have failed as two eggs are on the floor under their skimpy nest.
