Meadow Pipits returning

Yesterday 29th Jan 2006 - Circular Walk between Laund and Sherfin, noticed Meadow Pipits starting to gather at Laund (perhaps 10-12 in number), this seems rather early (maybe 2 weeks earlier than the norm). Also a party of 15 Fieldfare flew over Sherfin from SE to NW. Bryan.

Woodpigeons on the move

Just a "by chance" watch from the backgarden this morning. I saw one party of approx 150 (0900hrs approx) followed by a party of approx 30/40 (0910hrs approx) - Woodpigeon all heading from North to SW, they seem to head towards the Haslingden Grane area and possibly beyond.
