I was asked by a neighbour today, who was renovating there kitchen, if I could help move a Bat which was about to be painted. It was roosting behind a removed cupboard, I managed to move it into a shoebox which I opened at dusk and it flew away none the worst for its adventure. For anyone who has never seen...

Hi, Large variations in the numbers of bats (15 recordings in one night & 200 the next), frequenting / feeding along the lane to Riley`s farm. Variations probably due to strong winds forcing the insects to take cover in the lee of trees. The bats exploit these conditions just like the hirundine...

Sat by my PC watching two badgers feast on peanuts in the garden, one I think is an old male the other looks like one of this years young, don't seem bothered by the floodlight on the house wall or the barking of next doors dogs. Fleeting visit by a very young fox. Cheers Tony.

A mink dragging a dead f. mallard across the river at Tesco. Presumably it had killed the bird and was taking it to feed young. Watched it down stream as far as the weir. Bob.
